How to Determine Your Face Shape
Compare four visible dimensions: face length, forehead width, cheekbone width, and jaw width. Then note whether the jaw is rounded, angular, broad, or tapered. The fastest method is a photo detector; the most hands-on method is a flexible tape measure. Many people fall between two shapes.

Method 1 — Use a Face Shape Detector
Upload a straight-on photo, review the closest match, and read the measurement explanation. Use a second image when the result is unclear.
Method 2 — Measure Your Face
Measure forehead, cheekbones, jaw, and length without bending the tape around the face. Compare relative values, not another person's centimeter measurements.
Method 3 — Trace Your Outline in a Mirror
Pull hair back, face a mirror straight on, and trace the visible outline with a washable marker. This is quick but sensitive to head position and parallax.
Method 4 — Compare a Straight-On Photo
Use an unfiltered portrait and compare the widest area, length, jaw angle, and taper with the seven shape descriptions. Avoid angled selfies.
What If You Are Between Two Shapes?
Treat categories as overlapping styling references. Read both guides, identify where their recommendations agree, and choose based on the feature you want to emphasize.
Start with Your Own Proportions
Use a clear, front-facing photo for an explained result, or compare four manual measurements.
